Four-Star Tennessee Target Announces Commitment Date

Georgia native Sham Umarov is announcing his college commitment on July 8, the offensive lineman announced on Twitter Saturday.

Umarov will choose between a top four of Georgia, LSU, Michigan State and Tennessee after officially visiting all four schools in June.

The Alpharetta, Georgia native has visited Tennessee more times in 2022 than any other school. Umarov took unofficial visits to Knoxville in January and March before officially visiting Tennessee last weekend.

The Denmark High School native took two visits to Georgia and Michigan State in 2022 while his June visit to LSU was his first trip to Baton Rouge.

Umarov ranks as the No. 345 player and No. 31 offensive tackle in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. 247sports own rankings are higher on Umarov, ranking him as the No. 203 player in the nation.

The blue-chip’s June 8 decision adds to an extremely busy stretch for Tennessee football recruiting. Tennessee beat out a trio of SEC foes for Georgia defensive lineman Tyree Weathersby on Friday and five more Vol targets including Umarov will announce their college decision in the next nine days.

Five-star offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa and three-star defensive back Cristian Conyers highlight the Tennessee targets announcing their decisions in the coming days.
