Packers vs. Bears Betting Analysis

The former interim host of Jeopardy is performing pretty well as the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, thank you very much.

Aaron Rodgers may have a ponytail and gray in his beard, but his magical right arm still strikes fear in enemy defenses. As long as Rodgers is healthy, the Packers are favorites to win the NFC North. In addition to that, the oddsmakers at FanDuel say Green Bay is +1400 to win Super Bowl LVII.

Last week, the Packers presented a limp offense that was 3-for-11 on third or fourth down conversions. Rodgers & Co. only scored seven points. The result? A maddening loss to the Vikings, a team that could eclipse the Packers in the division.

This week at Lambeau Field, the Packers will host the Bears, who pushed across 12 points in the fourth quarter to steal a game from the 49ers. The Bears are supposed to be dreadful. The Bears are supposed to be punching bags. The Bears are supposed to be as ferocious as a pink teddy bear. Yet, despite being outgained in yards and possessing the ball seven minus less than the 49ers, Chicago found the fortitude to win its opener for the second time in nine seasons.

FanDuel has the Bears as a whopping 9.5-point underdog against Rodgers, who torments the team from across the Wisconsin state border. For his career, Rodgers has a 22-5 record against the Bears, his most wins over any team.

Betting Pick: Dante Pettis to Score a TD (+750)

Last week, Justin Fields had a pair of TD passes in the second half to lead the Bears to a come-from-behind win. He targeted Dante Pettis only once, but it was for a 51-yard strike. According to FanDuel, a TD by Pettis at any time in the game would pay out $750 on a $100 bet.
