Tennessee Climbs Into the Top 10 After Victory Over Florida

Tennessee Football has jumped into the Top 10 of the AP Poll on Sunday.

After defeating No. 20 Florida in Knoxville on Saturday, Tennessee now sits at No. 8 in the AP Polls.

This is the first time that Tennessee has been in the AP Top 10 since Week 7 of the 2016 season. The Vols sat at No. 9 during that week.

This is also Tennessee’s fourth consecutive week in the AP Top 25 poll. Tennessee began at No. 24 after the first week of the season before climbing to No. 15 in week three and No. 11 in week four. The Vols now enter week five as one of the eight highest-ranked teams in all of college football.

Tennessee is the fourth-highest team from the SEC in the Top 25 sitting behind No. 1 Georgia, No. 2 Alabama, and No. 7 Kentucky. The Vols did jump past Arkansas after the Razorbacks’ slide following their loss to Texas A&M. Ole Miss sits at No. 14, Texas A&M is at No. 17, and Arkansas is at No. 20.

  3. Ohio State
  4. Michigan
  5. Clemson
  6. Southern California
  7. Kentucky
  8. Tennessee
  9. Oklahoma State
  10. North Carolina State

In addition to the AP Poll, Tennessee also moved up in the coaches poll as well. Prior to the Vols’ 38-33 victory over Florida, Tennessee sat at No. 12 in the coaches poll.

Following Tennessee’s victory, the Vols have moved up to No. 9 in the week five coaches poll.

Just like the AP poll, Tennessee is also the fourth-highest team ranked from the SEC behind No. 1 Georgia, No. 2 Alabama, and No. 8 Kentucky. Ole Miss checks in at No. 11, Texas A&M jumps to No. 17 after defeating Arkansas, and the Razorbacks fall to No. 19 after the loss.
