A Tennessee target in the class of 2024 is set to announce his collegiate commitment at the end of the week.

According to his own tweet on Monday, four-star wide receiver/athlete Mazeo Bennett will be announcing his destination this upcoming Sunday afternoon.

Bennett tweeted out a graphic showing more information on his announcement along with eight teams listed: Tennessee, Florida State, Alabama, Oregon, North Carolina, Georgia, Miami, and South Carolina.

According to 247 Sports’ composite rankings, Bennett is a four-star wide receiver, the No. 30 overall player in the class of 2024, and the No. 3 player from the state of South Carolina.

In addition, the Greenville native is also ranked as the No. 1 wide receiver from the state of South Carolina.

As expected with his home-state ties, the Gamecocks do look to be leaders in the clubhouse. According to On3 Sports’ Recruiting Prediction Machine, South Carolina and head coach Shane Beamer currently lead the way at 41.4 percent. Tennessee is in the second spot at 15.8 percent, with North Carolina slightly behind the Vols at 13.6 percent.

With less than one week until Bennett’s announcement, there have been no Crystal Ball predictions from 247 Sports quite yet.

Bennett originally announced his commitment date on Oct. 1 with the same eight teams listed in the post. Additionally, Bennett was in Neyland Stadium for the Vols’ Checker Neyland game when Tennessee took down Florida.

While Bennett has been to Tennessee a handful of times this year, the Palmetto State native has also been a frequent visitor of the South Carolina football program.

Just one day before Bennett’s commitment, No. 6 Tennessee will host No. 3 Alabama inside an all-orange Neyland Stadium. Meanwhile, the Gamecocks are on a bye this week after defeating then-No. 13 Kentucky without Wildcats’ star quarterback Will Levis last weekend.

Tennessee currently has two commitments in the class of 2024 with five-star athlete Jonathan Echols and three-star defensive lineman Carson Gentle. There’s no question that adding four-star wide receiver Mazeo Bennett would be a major player early in the class and a strong start to the offensive side of the ball.

Bennett is set to announce his commitment on the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 16.
