With the 40-13 victory over LSU on Saturday, Tennessee has officially moved to 5-0 on the season.

By the time the fourth quarter began in Tiger Stadium, LSU fans had already started to file out of the stadium knowing that a Tiger comeback was becoming increasingly unlikely. And in their place, Tennessee fans from all over the stadium began filling in the lower southeast corner. By the time the clocks hit zero, a sea of orange surrounded the Tennessee tunnel and the Pride of the Southland Marching Band.

“To be honest, it didn’t even feel like we were on the road,” Tennessee wide receiver Jalin Hyatt said after the game. “As far as Vol nation coming out, supporting, especially here in Baton Rouge, it’s a blessing to be a part of this group. A part of the fanbase. I love that they came out to see us play and support us. Everybody in that locker room, we love Vol nation. We love everybody that comes and supports (us).”

Tennessee’s players have felt the love and support in abundance during their two road games of the season so far. Vol fans traveled well to Pittsburgh, even taking over the Pirates’ MLB ballpark, and kept the momentum rolling into Death Valley. There really is something to say about the impressiveness of Tennessee’s fans willing to travel such distances to support the team. And it’s been a talking point after each game so far.

The Vols still have a few big road trips coming up this season. But with the way that fans have already packed two stadiums more than nine hours from Knoxville, there’s plenty of reason to believe the same will happen in the upcoming contests. Tennessee will travel to Georgia on Nov. 5, South Carolina on Nov. 19, and Vanderbilt on Nov. 26.

However, until those road matchups roll around, check out Rocky Top Insider’s pregame and postgame coverage from the field of Tiger Stadium.
