The permanent launch of Maryland online sports betting is still two days away, but beginning on Monday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. ET, there will be a short amount of time for sports bettors to get their feet wet on a pair of sports betting apps.
Caesars Sportsbook Maryland and FanDuel Maryland will open their apps to Maryland residents for eight hours during a soft launch that will test the waters before Maryland Lottery and Gaming gives the go-ahead for a full-time launch on Wednesday, Nov. 23.
Both sportsbooks are offering welcome bonuses during Monday’s initial eight-hour wagering period. Here are the details of those two offers as well as all of the information you need to know about the soft launch and how it will affect sports bettors in Maryland.

Maryland Online Sports Betting: Soft Launch Details
Before Maryland betting apps can launch on a permanent basis, the Maryland Lottery needs to conduct a controlled demonstration to make sure each sportsbook is operating as expected.
That process begins at 2 p.m. ET on Nov. 21 when several companies will launch their betting apps. While Caesars and FanDuel will allow the general public to begin placing wagers at that time, other sportsbooks have opted not to do so.
Beginning at 2 p.m., customers will be able to place wagers as normal and make deposits and withdrawals. At 10 p.m. ET on Nov. 21, the ability to place wagers will end so that the Maryland Lottery can review how each sportsbook performed from a technical standpoint.
After 10 p.m. ET, however, customers can still browse the apps and deposit money. The only thing customers will not be able to do is place a wager.
Once the Maryland Lottery is done with its review process, it will give the green light for sportsbooks to launch on a permanent basis and allow users to begin placing wagers again. That will happen at some point on Nov. 23, but a specific time has not been announced.

With the second option, you can wager anywhere from $20 to $100 as your first bet. No matter the outcome of that wager, you will get a $100 bet credit to use as your next wager.
