Knoxville running back Desean Bishop announced a top two of Appalachian State and Tennessee Monday afternoon and plans to decide between the two Wednesday.

Bishop shared the news on Twitter including his plan to sign Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET at the Karns High School auditorium.

Bishop is a three-star recruit who ranks as the No. 1,244 player and No. 81 running back in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Knoxville running back also ranks as the No. 34 player in the state of Tennessee.

Tennessee’s recruiting class currently has just one running back committed— three-star Birmingham native Khalfia Keith. Four-star athlete Cameron Seldon could play either running back or receiver in college.

Bishop was originally committed to Coastal Carolina for months before head coach Jamey Chadwell left to take over at Liberty. The 5-foot-10, 194 pound running back de-committed from Coastal Carolina earlier this month and took an official visit to Appalachian State last weekend.

Tennessee has been in-and-out of Bishop’s recruitment since its offset. Bishop visited Tennessee in March as well as multiple times during the 2021 football season.

Bishop had a massive 2021 season at Karns, rushing for over 3,000 yards and 30 touchdowns. The 5-foot-10, 194 pound running back had another big year in 2022 leading the Beavers to a 7-4 season.

The Vols recruiting class currently has 24 high school prospects committed and three transfer from out of the portal.
