Instate Athlete Commits To Tennessee Football

Three-star athlete Marcus Goree Jr. committed to Tennessee football Saturday night less than a week after releasing his top five. Goree committed to the Vols over Colorado, Michigan, Michigan State and Nebraska.

Goree stars at Bradley Central High School in Cleveland, Tennessee and is poised to be one of the top instate prospects in the 2024 recruiting class.

The East Tennessee native ranks as the No. 456 player and No. 62 athlete in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. Goree is a high three-star and ranks as the 10th best player in the Volunteer State according to 247sports.

Goree ranks as an athlete and could play a number of positions in college including cornerback, safety or receiver.

Living just a short distance from Knoxville, Goree has been a frequent visitor on Tennessee’s campus in the last year. Goree visited the Vols last summer and again for the Alabama game before coming to Tennessee for its mid January Junior Day

The 6-foot, 175-pound defensive back also visited Colorado last month before committing to Tennessee.

Goree becomes the fourth commit in Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class and the third in the Volunteer State. The high three-star joins four-star corner Kaleb Beasley and and three-star defensive lineman Carson Gentle as Tennessee’s instate commits.

With Goree’s commitment, Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class ranks No. 15 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
