Three different Tennessee basketball players earned All-SEC honors from the conference’s coaches Monday afternoon.

Santiago Vescovi and Zakai Zeigler each landed on All-SEC teams while Zeigler also made the All-Defensive team and Julian Phillips landed on the All-SEC Freshman Team.

Vescovi landed on the First Team after taking a strong senior season. The left-handed sharpshooter didn’t produce as strong of offensive numbers as he did during his junior campaign but still led the Vols with 12.7 points per game on 40% shooting from the field and 36% shooting from three-point range.

The Montevideo, Uruguay native continued his development as a strong defender, adding 1.9 steals per game to go along with his 4.6 rebounds and three assists per game.

Zeigler landed on the Second Team despite suffering a season ending knee injury last week against Arkansas. The sophomore point guard averaged 10.7 points and 5.4 assists per game. Zeigler was developing into a complete point guard before his injury and led the SEC in assists in conference games.

The New York native landed on the All-Defensive team for the second straight season after averaging two steals per game and setting the tone of the nation’s best defense.

Five-star freshman Julian Phillips is one of eight players on the All-Freshman team and landed there despite missing four games in SEC play with a hip flexor. Phillips is averaging nine points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
