Season tickets to Tennessee’s 2023 football season are flying off the shelves. Or, the online shelves, at least.

Coming off of an Orange Bowl victory over Clemson en route to an 11-win season, Tennessee has become one of the hottest brands around the college football landscape under the leadership of head coach Josh Heupel. The Vols put together an impressive Top 10 season and plan to send multiple players to the NFL this offseason, with the potential of even finding multiple first-round picks.

It makes sense that Tennessee is tracking ahead of schedule when it comes to season tickets. Fans are ready to lock down their spots to see all of the unforgettable moments to come.

According to a Tennessee press release on Tuesday afternoon, U.T. Athletics has “surged” past its goal of selling 70,000 season tickets for the upcoming football season. Tennessee achieved its goal 144 days before the start of the regular season against Virginia in Nashville on Sept. 2, 2023.

“Tennessee has sold 70,255 football season tickets—nearly 10,000 more than its target of 61,000,” UT’s press release states. “The anticipation of another season in historic Neyland Stadium was further accentuated with a stellar 96 percent renewal rate among season ticket holders. In addition, Tennessee has sold 8,996 new season tickets for the 2023 campaign.”

While impressive, that’s not even the most jaw-dropping aspect. Tennessee’s Rise Glorious plan called for achieving the 70,000 season ticket mark for the 2026-2027 athletic year. The news on Tuesday suggests that Tennessee has hit its goal a whole three years earlier than the administration originally planned.

“In an era of stadium downsizing, Vol Nation continues to send a strong message that its passion is unrivaled with over 70,000 season tickets sold and still five months until kickoff,” Tennessee Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletics Danny White said via the press release. “We envisioned that goal by year five when we launched Rise Glorious, but Vol Nation’s unwavering support and the excitement surrounding the program allowed us to eclipse that benchmark in year one. We are ecstatic to be on the cusp of selling out our season ticket inventory!”
