Tennessee baseball head coach Tony Vitello met with the media following the Vols’ 13-2 series-sweeping victory over Mississippi State inside Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Vitello shared his thoughts on the series sweep, how the team has come together over the past couple of weekends, great days from Drew Beam and Christian Moore, Christian Scott’s leadership and more.
“It’s huge because I’m a big believer in law of percentages,” Vitello said about Moore’s weekend performance. “You can’t go five-for-five every day but he’s only going to stay down so long and the percentages will equal out in his favor and show that he’s a really good player but not until you let it happen.”

Moore certainly was the best he’s been in SEC play this weekend against Mississippi State, hitting three home runs and reaching base six times. In the previous three SEC series combined, Moore had only reached base nine times.
