Tennessee baseball head coach Tony Vitello, pitcher Andrew Lindsey and DH Griffin Merritt met with the media following the Vols’ 8-1 win over Charlotte on Friday night in Clemson.
Tennessee used a fantastic Andrew Lindsey start and strong production from the middle of the lineup to coast past the 49ers in their NCAA Tournament opener.
Griffin Merritt co-led the team in RBIs on the night with three, as the super-senior hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth to put the Vols up 8-0.

The Vols will now face Clemson, the host team, on Saturday night in Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The Tigers downed Lipscomb 12-5 in game one on Friday.
RHP Chase Dollander will start on the mound for Tennessee, Vitello confirmed in the press conference above.
