See Tennessee Football’s College Football Playoff Odds

Tennessee football is +900, or has 9/1 odds, to make the College Football Playoffs next season according to odds from BetOnline.

The Vols came up a game short of making the College Football Playoff a season ago as their loss at South Carolina in week 12 derailed their playoff hopes. Still, Tennessee was fantastic in Josh Heupel’s second season. The Vols went 11-2 with marquee wins over Florida, LSU, Alabama and Clemson.

Tennessee is tied for the 15th best odds to make the College Football Playoff, coming in behind Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Southern Cal, Texas and Washington while tying Utah.

While Tennessee isn’t in the top 10 of playoff odds it’s largely because the strength of the SEC. The Vols have the fourth best odds of an SEC team while Georgia (-230) and Alabama (+145) have the best and fourth best playoff odds of any team.

The Vols’ over/under regular season win total for the 2023 season is 9 as Heupel and his staff looks to continue the positive trajectory of the Tennessee program.

That will be no easy task for Tennessee. The Vols are replacing an abundance of key players from the 2022 team, particularly on the offensive side of the ball where stars Hendon Hooker, Darnell Wright, Jalin Hyatt and Cedric Tillman are off to the NFL.

Still, there’s plenty of offensive talent in Knoxville including a group of returning players looking to take the next jump forward: Joe Milton III, Bru McCoy, Squirrel White and Jaylen Wright.

Tennessee opens up its 2023 football season against Virginia on Sept. 2 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
