2023 NBA Finals Preview and Best Bets for Game 4

The Nuggets and the Heat are a Finals matchup that few predicted. Both teams have been frequently underrated by oddsmakers and sports fans alike, flying under the radar until now when it really feels like all bets are off on who takes the next game!

The Nuggets are the sensible favorite. As long as they keep up their performance level and stay focused, they are the better team and should win. But it’s not that easy. The Heat have shocked analysts over and over again, including in Game 2 of this series when they beat Denver in its home arena.

If you like betting on the underdogs, we think this is a good game to put money on the Heat. Sure, the Nuggets are more likely to win, but when coach Erik Spoelstra’s crew gets their backs against a wall, they’ve been beating the odds every time in this postseason.

Here are the game lines from FanDuel Sportsbook:

  • Money: Nuggets -162 | Heat +136
  • Spread: Nuggets -3.5
  • Total: 210.5 points

Now let’s look at a few of our favorite props for tonight’s game.

Jimmy Butler Will Score the First Basket (+600)

We expect the Heat to come out – well, hot – in Game 4 after losing at home in Game 3. The Heat made a valiant effort to close the gap Wednesday, but it just wasn’t enough. We like the idea that Butler will score the first basket, with the energy of their recent loss fueling his opening moves.

The odds for Butler to get the first basket are at +600 on FanDuel Sportsbook. So, let’s say you want to wager $100 in FanDuel bonus bets, if you place that on Jimmy Butler to get the first basket at +600, you’ll get $600 back if you win.

Bam Adebayo and Nikola Jokic to Combine for 55+ Points (+130)

Nikola Jokic is showing why he’s a multi-year MVP, while Bam Adebayo has been one of the more unsung heroes of this postseason. We think the two could make it happen by going over 55 points together.

Adebayo has been averaging 17.7 points this postseason, but in the past three games, he’s scored 22, 21, and 26. Matching up against the Nuggets has clearly sent Adebayo to another level. Jokic has continued his pattern of clocking the high score for his team, getting 27, 41, and 32 in the first three games against the Heat. His average this postseason is 30.5.

If you bet this parlay at FanDuel’s +130 odds, wagering $100 in FanDuel bonus bets, you’d win $130.

Jamal Murray to Score Over 25 Points (-115)

FanDuel Sportsbook has Murray’s over/under for player points set at 25.5. The odds for the Over are -115, and the odds for the Under are -111. We say the slight advantage to the over is correct.

Murray got a triple-double in the last game, and while it’s unlikely he’ll have an equally dominant showing tonight, he’s been a force this postseason. He’s averaging 27.4 points per game in the postseason compared to 20 points per game in the regular season. Against Miami, he has scored 26, 18, and 34.

If you bet the Over with $100 of your FanDuel bet credits, you could win $86.96.
