Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton III will take a break from his offseason work in Knoxville this summer to enjoy some time around Peyton and Eli Manning.

Milton has been announced as one of the quarterback counselors at the 27th Manning Passing Academy. The event that is hosted by the Manning family will take place from Thursday, June 22, to Sunday, June 25, at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA. College quarterbacks from around the nation are invited to help lead the youth football players of tomorrow alongside Peyton, Eli, Cooper Manning, and many more football celebrities.

Milton will continue the tradition of Tennessee quarterbacks taking part in the event as Hendon Hooker did so during the summer of 2022. Josh Dobbs is also a recent multi-time counselor for the MPA.

“It was a great experience, a blessing to be there,” Hooker said of the Manning Passing Academy last summer. “Learned some great things from some great football minds being around the first family. Being around the Manning family, they showed me nothing but love and I love them right back.”

Milton is the seventh quarterback from the SEC that has been announced (so far) for the event at the end of June. With Peyton Manning bringing in a Volunteer, Eli brought in an Ole Miss Rebel. Jaxson Dart will also be in attendance representing the Rebels and the SEC.

Additionally, LSU will have two quarterbacks in attendance with Jayden Daniels and Garrett Nussmeier. NC State turned Kentucky quarterback Devin Leary, Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers, and Missouri quarterback Brady Cook have also been announced for the academy.

The Manning Passing Academy will also feature several big-time non-SEC names, too. Included on that list are Texas quarterbacks Arch Manning and Quinn Ewers, North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye, Coastal Carolina quarterback Grayson McCall, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, Duke’s Riley Leonard, and many more.

Another quarterback that will be present is UT San Antonio’s Frank Harris, who Tennessee and Milton will square off against during Week 4 on Saturday, Sept. 23.

Joe Milton threw for 971 yards, 10 touchdowns, and zero interceptions as the primary Tennessee backup last season. Milton did start the final two games for Tennessee after an injury to Hendon Hooker, though, and threw for 147 yards in the rain against Vanderbilt and 251 yards in the Orange Bowl against No. 7 Clemson. Milton’s Tennessee-led offenses outscored their opponents 87-14 over the span of those two games.
