SEC Football Odds for Week 2

No. 3 Alabama vs No. 11 Texas at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN)

Two blue-blood programs square off in a highly-anticipated rematch of last year’s thrilling 1-point win for the Crimson Tide as Alabama welcomes Texas to Bryant-Denny Stadium with an eye on making it two straight against the Longhorns.

Quinn Ewers is back in burnt orange with another shot at Alabama, which brings on a new quarterback after Bryce Young’s departure. All signs are pointing to dual-threat Jalen Milroe reprising the starting role he played in last week’s opener and accounted for five all-purpose touchdowns in a big win over Middle Tennessee.

Unsurprisingly, Alabama is the favorite in this game, favored by 7.5 points. The Tide moneyline is priced at -290 while the Longhorns come in as a dog at +235. The total is set at 54.

No. 23 Texas A&M vs Miami at 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC)

Texas A&M remains in the infant stages of the power couple between head coach Jimbo Fisher and offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino. This marriage of minds resulted in a 52-point offensive showcase during Week 1’s victory over New Mexico. While Miami handled business against Miami (Ohio) 38-3 during Week 1, the No. 23 Aggies are still 4.5-point betting favorites despite being on the road.

Vanderbilt vs Wake Forest 11 a.m. ET (ACC Network)

It’s a battle of ACC vs SEC. The Vanderbilt Commodores are on the road as they make the trek to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons Saturday morning. Vanderbilt comes in off a 47-13 whipping of Alabama A&M at home last Saturday, though they failed to cover as a 35-point favorite. Wake Forest downed Elon 37-17 at home in its season opener last Thursday. The ACC team has the edge in this matchup with the Deacons favored by 10 points. 

No. 1 Georgia vs Ball State at 12 p.m. ET (SEC Network)

The Ball State Cardinals opened the season on the road against Kentucky and were 25-point dogs in a 44-14 loss. The uphill battle continues as they face the number 1 team in the country, Georgia. The Bulldogs were marked as a huge 50-point point favorite in a 41-7 win against Tennessee-Martin in the season opener. This week it’s not much different as the Dawgs are favored by 42.5 points.
