Peyton Manning returned to televisions around the country on Monday for the season debut of the Monday Night ManningCast broadcast along with his brother Eli.

Many tuned into the ManningCast at 8:00 p.m. on Monday night with the anticipation of seeing football’s first family break down the New York Jets debut for quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Peyton Manning and Eli Manning breaking down a Rodgers’ debut and a Josh Allen game all in one night? The audience was tuned in to see it happen.

Unfortunately, though, viewers didn’t see the Mannings react to a Rodgers touchdown at any point. Instead, the brothers reacted to Rodgers’ season-ending injury on just the fourth play of the game.

Peyton had his eyes turned to the right spot and called it nearly instantly: “Is he limping?”

The brothers continued to react as Rodgers was taken off the field, then into the tent, then back into the locker room via cart transportation.

The injury that Aaron Rodgers suffered not only took the wind out of the stadium but also completely threw Peyton off his game.

The elder Manning brother joked that he had no notes, no plays, and didn’t do any interviews regarding quarterback Zach Wilson before the game, so he was out of luck moving forward.

Still, though, the brothers carried on as professionals and broke down Wilson’s impromptu game for the Jets. The reactions on social media continued to pile up as Manning’s comments on Wilson found their way over to the internet.

“Peyton Manning is furious with the way Zach Wilson plays,” one user on X wrote. “He can’t even hide it.”

“Peyton Manning might not survive a full game of the Zach Wilson experience…” another wrote.

The New York Jets – without Aaron Rodgers – ended up defeating the Buffalo Bills by a score of 22-16 in overtime after a walk-off punt return for a touchdown after the Bills failed to move the ball on their first possession of the extra period.
