Titans vs. Browns Betting Odds

The Tennessee Titans pulled off a stunning win in Los Angeles against the Chargers, putting their record at 1-1 with many people wondering if they can win their division behind Derrick Henry, Ryan Tannehill, and welcomed new addition DeAndre Hopkins. A tall task is ahead for a team that has faced criticism regarding its ability to stay competitive late in ball games.

The Cleveland Browns look ahead after losing a late lead to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. The game showcased Deshaun Watson’s struggles as the Browns turned the ball over 3 times. To add to the ugly loss to an AFC North rival, the Browns also had to watch the unfortunate season ending injury to star running back Nick Chubb. Changes need to be in the cards for the Browns if they look to win against a Titans team looking to take back the AFC South crown.

Top 3 Props for Titans vs. Browns

Tennessee Titans Over 17.5 Team Total Points (-110 on BetMGM Sportsbook)

Last week in an overtime win over the Chargers, the Titans scored 27 points against a defense more talented than what the Cleveland Browns have. Derrick Henry eased into the season with 80 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries — not too bad for the second game. QB Ryan Tannehll going 20-of-24 passing for 246 yards is a positive sign — not to mention him running for a touchdown himself in the third quarter. Tannehill found Nick Westbrook-Ikhine in the endzone late in the game on a 4-yard pass showed that Tennessee can find ways to stay competitive late in games. That’s a positive sign for the Team Total Over 17.5 points.

Deshaun Watson turning the ball over 3 times, having been removed from football for 2 years is a narrative we’re all too familiar with. However these topics being tied to Deshaun are there for a reason, this can only be an indicator of bad things to come. The Browns defense is no joke but the Titans are counting on Watson to keep them in the game and allow them to pull away with the win. I like the Tennessee Titans over 17.5 total points thanks to Watson himself.

Same Game Parlay: Derrick Henry to Score Anytime and Titans to Win (+265 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Henry found the endzone last week for the first time this year and has people hoping that he will contribute the same way he has in years past. Treylon Burks and DeAndre Hopkins have certainly taken a bit of the action away from Henry but there’s no need to start worrying yet. Henry has been a focal point of this Titans offense and you can expect at least one touchdown from him in Sunday’s contest in Cleveland. The Browns are allowing roughly 4.2 yards per carry to running backs, which is certainly a favorable situation for Henry. He also had three receptions for 15 yards. This adds to the chances that we see Henry score at least once and contribute to a Titans win.

The second part of this parlay is that the Titans win. If the Browns’ offensive troubles and lack of run game with the loss of Chubb is not enough to convince you that the Titans can win this game, take a look at the time of possession from last week vs the Chargers. The Titans held the ball for 36:49 and kept it out of the hands of Chargers QB Justin Herbert. It was a big reason for the Titans coming out on top. The Chargers only converted 2-of-14 third down plays, showcasing the defensive talent and strength for the Titans.

Deshaun Watson 1 Passing Touchdown (-450 on Bet365 Sportsbook)

The Browns losing Nick Chubb to a season ending knee injury has dealt a significant blow to their offensive identity. That, in turn, points to Deshaun Watson having to step up since there is not a tried and true running back he can rely on. The Browns had 206 rushing yards in their first game and win of the season against the Cincinnati Bengals, and in Week 2 had 198 rushing yards in their loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. A little over half of the Browns’ total yards through the first two weeks came from their rushing attack. Losing Chubb forces the Browns to find answers elsewhere on the roster.

Watson has two passing touchdowns this season. Harrison Bryant caught a 3-yard touchdown pass in a dominant Week 1 performance against the Bengals. In week 2, Watson threw another 3-yard TD pass to Jerome Ford in the beginning of the second quarter. With Ford, Pierre Strong Jr, and now Kareem Hunt being brought back on a one-year deal worth up to $4 million, it is vehemently clear that the Browns are trying to stick with their run game as best as they can. I believe the trend sticks to Watson throwing for one touchdown in week 3 as the running backs look to get in reps early vs the Titans.
