Josh Heupel’s Tennessee Volunteers football program landed in the Top 8 contenders list for class of 2025 cornerback Dylan Lewis.

Lewis announced his Top 8 through a social media post on Friday afternoon that included Clemson, North Carolina State, Tennessee, North Carolina, LSU, Auburn, Central Florida, and Kentucky.

Still very early into his recruiting cycle, Lewis ranks as a three-star prospect according to both 247 Sports and On3 Sports, which could certainly change over time as Lewis gets more reps under his belt and the class as a whole goes under the microscope a little more. 247 Sports’ composite rankings have Lewis as a Top 500 player overall, the No. 45 cornerback in the class, and the No. 50 player from the state of Georgia.

Lewis currently plays ball for Milton High School in Alpharetta, Georgia. While he did attend a different high school in the city, former Tennessee quarterback Joshua Dobbs also hails from Alpharetta.

247 Sports states that Lewis has taken two unofficial visits to Tennessee in the last three months. The cornerback prospect visited Tennessee during the summer on July 29 and then again on Sept. 30 for the Vols’ night game victory over South Carolina in Knoxville.

Lewis also took unofficial visits to Tennessee in March 2023 and in October 2022 for the Vols’ night game victory over Kentucky.

The talented 5-foot-11, 180-pound recruit already has more than 20 scholarship offers. Heupel’s Volunteers offered Lewis a scholarship on June 1, 2022, as just the fifth team to officially extend an offer.

Tennessee looks to be tracking well for Lewis early into his recruiting cycle. According to On3 Sports’ Recruiting Prediction Machine, Tennessee leads the way at 34.9 percent followed by Clemson (15.6 percent), Auburn (13.4 percent), and Kentucky (11.2 percent).

The Volunteers have one commit lined up in the 2025 class already with fellow three-star cornerback Shamar Arnoux.

Arnoux also plays for Milton High School in Alpharetta, Georgia, as the Volunteers look to keep the Milton HS connection going with a pair of cornerbacks in the class of 2025.
