Tennessee Football Opens As Favorites Against Texas A&M

It’s Tennessee-Texas A&M week after the Vols’ lone open date during the 2023 season is past. The betting line is varying for the week seven SEC matchup, coming in between Tennessee -3.5 and Tennessee -6.5 according to the Action Sports Network.

The most popular line has Tennessee as four-point favorites over the Aggies with the over/under set at 57.5.

Tennessee enters the week five matchup 3-2 against the spread this season. The Vols are10-1 against the spread in SEC games, failing to cover as favorites against Florida but doing so at home against South Carolina. The over has hit in two Tennessee game this season, the under has hit twice and it pushed once.

Texas A&M is 4-2 against the spread this season and 2-1 against the spread in conference games after failing to cover against Alabama Saturday. The over has hit in four Texas A&M games this season with the under hitting in two of the games.

The week seven matchup is a critical one for both Josh Heupel and Jimbo Fisher’s programs. Tennessee is looking to stay alive in the SEC East race after falling to Florida last month. Texas A&M and Fisher desperately need a win after an up-and-down 4-2 start to the season that saw them drop winnable games against Miami and Texas A&M.

There is plenty of excitement around Tennessee’s matchup against Texas A&M. The Vols are checkering Neyland Stadium against Texas A&M and SEC Nation is coming to Knoxville for the SEC matchup.

Kickoff at Neyland Stadium is at 3:30 p.m. ET with CBS broadcasting the matchup.
