NFL Player Props for Lamar Jackson

Since the letdown loss to the Steelers, the Ravens have run off four straight wins. One of the biggest reasons for their success is the stellar play of Jackson, who has a solid odds to take home the MVP trophy this year. The Browns own one of the best defenses in the league and have a healthy Deshaun Watson, which should help their time of possession and keep their defense fresh. That leaves a lot on the shoulders of Jackson to be successful in this one.

Lamar Jackson Anytime TD  Scorer (+200 on Caesars Sportsbook)

The Browns’ defense allowed two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns to Jackson in their first meeting. Both of his rushing touchdowns were on scramble plays inside the 20. That’s where Jackson is the biggest threat. He is second in the league in rushing attempts in the red zone and third in touchdowns in that area of the field.

Additionally, the red zone is the one part of the field the Browns’ defense hasn’t been as dominant. Teams score 66% of the time against the Browns in part of the field, which is the fifth worst percentage in the league. The Ravens  are a bottom 10 team in big passing plays (>25 yards), so their drives are usually long and methodical, which results in multiple plays inside the 20. Look for Jackson to take advantage of one of the few weak spots of the Browns’ dynamic defense.

Lamar Jackson Under 209.5 Passing Yards (-115 on BetMGM Sportsbook)

As previously mentioned, the Browns own the stingiest passing defense in the league in yards allowed per game. Additionally, Jackson has only topped the total for this line four times this year. Each team he surpassed the total against were middle of the pack or worse in passing yards allowed per game – Steelers, Bengals, Lions, and Titans.

In their first matchup, Jackson completed nearly 80% of his passes, threw two touchdowns, and had a 142.5 QBR. And yet, he only threw 186 total yards. That was his second-best-statistical-passing performance of the season, and he didn’t cover the line. It’s not likely to be much better tonight, so taking him on the Under makes sense on this line.

Lamar Jackson Under 43.5 Rushing Yards (-115 on BetMGM Sportsbook)

The Browns haven’t allowed a single rusher more than 56 yards in their last five games, which includes games against names like Derrick Henry, Christian McCaffrey, Jackson, and Gus Edwards. The last time the two met, Jackson finished with 27 yards on nine attempts although he found the end zone twice inside the 20.

His longest rush that game was 10 yards, which leaves 17 yards on eight carries. The Browns made it a point to keep him in the pocket, and they have the talent and game plan to do it again. Look for them to contain Jackson on the ground until the Ravens find the red zone.
