Titans vs. Panthers Betting Odds

Both the Titans and Panthers are sitting at the bottom of their respective divisions. The Titans are second-to-last in the AFC, while the Panthers are dead last in the NFC with just one win (over Houston in Week 8).

With the playoffs essentially out of reach, both teams are arguably in a place where they need to start losing (though, of course, not on purpose?). But how to wager on the outcome? Let’s break it down team by team.

Tennessee just keeps sliding

The Titans are on a three-game slide, losing to the Steelers, Buccaneers, and Jaguars for three consecutive weeks. After winning his NFL debut in Week 8 and creating quite a splash in the news, rookie Will Levis is 0-3 since.

The surge and slide have been the story of Tennessee’s season, with a moderately strong 2-2 start disintegrating into losing five of their last six games. The Titans are 27th in the league in scoring at 16.8 points per game.

But Carolina had nowhere to slide

Carolina has just been awful this year. The Panthers started the season 0-6 before finally getting a 15-13 win against Houston after Carolina’s bye week. Since that surprise win, they’ve gone back to the regularly scheduled programming — AKA losing to the Colts, Bears, and Cowboys.

Only five quarterbacks in the last decade have had lower yards per attempt than No. 1 overall draft pick Bryce Young, who is averaging 5.3 this season. He’s thrown eight interceptions, too.

They are dead last in the league standings with their solitary win. So you could say they have some motivation to stay here and get a good draft position, but that didn’t seem to help them this year.

Titans vs. Panthers Prediction: Tennessee Should Cover

The Titans opened as 3.5-point favorites in this matchup, and we think they can cover. After all, Levis hasn’t been great for three games, but he’s shown he can be great. Plus, Tennessee had a moderately talented scoring defense at No. 16 and the No. 2 red zone defense. We think it’s enough to give them a win of bigger than 3 points.
