ACC Championship Odds & Preview: Louisville Takes on Unbeaten Florida State

We have one full weekend of college football left before the Bowls and the College Football Playoff, and you know what that means: It’s time for conference championships. In the ACC, we’ve got 12-0 Florida State facing off against a 10-2 Louisville.

The Florida State Seminoles are No. 4 in the College Football Playoff rankings, meaning if they win the ACC, they should be set for their playoff spot. They’ve been a fantastic team this year, clearly, but the plot twist, of course, is their loss of star quarterback Jordan Travis to a season-ending injury in Week 12.

Thanks to that devastating injury wrinkle, the odds for the ACC Championship are close, with a 2.5-point spread in favor of Florida State on most sportsbooks. Speaking of those odds, now is the perfect time to leverage the best Kentucky sportsbook welcome promos. We’ve rounded up all the best bonuses from top Kentucky online sportsbooks. Plus, scroll down for the ACC Championship Odds for Louisville vs. Florida State.

Best Sportsbook Bonuses for the ACC Championship Game

December is here, which means the College Football Playoff and Bowl games are on deck, plus the NFL in the second half of its season, the NBA In-Season Tournament wrapping up, and more. In short, the sports betting action is hot, and what better way to make the water-cooler talk more interesting during holiday office parties or even family gatherings?

Sportsbooks are rolling out the holiday cheer, too. To entice new users during the busy football season, sportsbooks are offering weekly perks, deals, and welcome promos to boost your winnings when you sign up. Here’s a roundup and easy guide to all the best welcome promos for the college football conference championship games.

ACC Championship Preview: Louisville vs. Florida State

While the ACC Championship may not have the most buzz, it does have great odds for sports bettors — and high stakes for at least one team: Florida State.

The Seminoles have to win to get into the College Football Playoff. They’re currently undefeated and No. 4 in the CFP rankings. A loss would likely drop them out of contention now that they don’t have Travis at QB.

For Louisville, a loss to Kentucky in their regular-season finale put an end to any national championship dreams this year. Their main goal here is to ruin Florida State’s chances — not so inspiring, but hey, that’s the game. A win could potentially lift them into the New Year’s Six Bowl, but not necessarily.

The odds on top sportsbooks give the Seminoles a 2.5-point advantage — much closer than the spread would’ve been if they still had Travis. The moneyline is close, too, with the Cardinals at +106 and the Seminoles at -145 on Caesars Sportsbook. The total is 47.5 points.

Here’s a preview of how each team is looking headed into the matchup.

Florida State Makes Due Without Star QB

The Seminoles faced heartbreak in Week 12 with Travis out for the season — an injury that almost certainly ended their national title hopes.

Now, they look to backup quarterback Tate Rodemaker. To be fair to Rodemaker, he’s won the two games since he took over for Travis, but in last week’s game against in-state rival Florida, he threw for 134 yards and completed fewer than half of his 26 passes.

The Seminoles’ defense will be the critical piece to their success. They held the Gators to 86 passing yards last week. The Gators were also down to a backup QB.

But if Rodemaker plays well and manages the game better than in Week 13, the Seminoles shouldn’t have too much to worry about.

Louisville Looks to Bounce Back

Louisville had been looking hot all season until it lost to an unranked team in their Rivalry Week matchup against the Kentucky Wildcats. They are now No. 14 in the CFP rankings. Their one hope to compete beyond the ACC Championship is to qualify for one of the New Year’s Six bowls.

The Cardinals lost 38-31 with three turnovers and critical mistakes that just won’t cut it in a conference championship game.
