Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin looks to have made a visit to Knoxville on Monday, as seen by multiple posts on social media.

The former Tennessee coach first posted a picture of himself and Heisman-winning LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels side-by-side at 1:37 p.m. ET.

“Just two Cali guys hanging out in Knoxville. So many thought’s of ….. @Vol_Football Not a lot going on at the moment,” Kiffin wrote in a tweet with a laughing emoji.

Daniels, a native of San Bernardino, California, earned the 2023 Heisman Trophy and was given the award on Saturday night during the award show.

Fourteen minutes after his first post, Kiffin posted two more pictures to social media, with one of them being a shot of the tarmac at the McGhee Tyson Airport in Knoxville. Yes, yes, the Ruby Tuesday sign on Alcoa Highway is the dead giveaway there.

The former Tennessee football head coach added one more picture at 2:24 p.m. from the same spot outside of the airport. This time, though, Kiffin added in some intrigue with the thinking emoji.

Four pictures being teased out hardly give any answers to the Ole Miss head coach stopping by Knoxville but do fall in line with the mischievous nature of one of college football’s most interesting and entertaining coaches.

Kiffin’s Rebels are preparing for a Peach Bowl matchup against No. 10 Penn State on Saturday, December 30, in Atlanta, Georgia.

It has certainly been an interesting transfer portal day for Tennesee to open the week as two defensive backs – De’Shawn Rucker and Tamarion McDonald – have hit the portal. That now brings Tennessee’s total number of defensive backs in the portal to six.

Tennessee has 10 players in the transfer portal including six defensive backs, three offensive linemen, and one EDGE rusher. Some of the impact names from Tennessee’s 2023 season in the portal include DL Tyler Baron, DB Tamarion McDonald, and DB Doneiko Slaughter. Former four-star OL recruit Addison Nichols also entered the portal last week.

It’s hard to make heads or tails of Kiffin’s Knoxville tweets on Monday, but it certainly falls right in line with the wild world of college football.
