Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin is back at it. Coming off its second New Years Six Bowl appearance in three-years, Ole Miss is off to a great start building its roster for the 2024 season.

The Rebels have already landed seven total transfers with the latest two being Tennessee transfer defenders Tyler Baron and Tamarion McDonald.

The two Saturday commitments gave Kiffin an opportunity he rarely passes up— a chance to troll Tennessee. Kiffin shared a photo that he previously posted on X (formerly Twitter) earlier this week with him at the McGhee-Tyson Airport in Knoxville.

The photo is of a small Tennessee plane with the Ruby Tuesday sign in the back.

Both Baron and McDonald played four-seasons at Tennessee and started on the Vols’ defense last season before entering the transfer portal earlier this month.

Baron, a defensive end, is coming off his best collegiate season, totaling 28 total tackles, six sacks, two pass breakups and a fumble return for a touchdown.

McDonald, a safety and STAR, started nearly every game for Tennessee during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. As a senior, McDonald 40 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one interception, one sack and five deflected passes.

Tennessee does not face Ole Miss in the first season of the 16-team SEC, so neither Baron or McDonald will face their old team barring an unlikely SEC Championship game meeting.

The Vols landed their first transfer commit of the offseason on Friday night when Notre Dame tight end transfer Holden Staes committed to Tennessee over a group including Georgia, Oklahoma and Washington. The Vols have also retained a large part of the veteran players on their roster including linebacker Keenan Pili and offensive linemen Cooper Mays, Gerald Mincey and John Campbell Jr.

  1. Why don’t you get off the vols nuts you wasn’t nothing when you has a head coach and you still ain’t nothing I wish we would play against each other to shut you the fuck up

  2. Last time UT played Ole Miss, didn’t Kiffin beat us? Kiffin was a blocked field goal (twice) away from beating #1 Alabama in 2009 with Jonathan Crompton as quarterback. Say what you want, the man can coach.
