Tennessee will return to their home court of Thompson Boling Arena at Food City Center this Tuesday night after back-to-back road games this past week.

The Vols (12-4) will host Florida (11-5) at 7:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday followed by a home game against Alabama this Saturday.

Tennessee’s week in hindsight was all about comebacks. The Vols’ attempted a furious comeback against Mississippi State in Starkville on Wednesday but fell to the Bulldogs after a poor first half proved to be too much. Georgia flipped a 14-point deficit into an 11-point lead on Saturday in Athens but this time Tennessee’s comeback attempt did prove to be successful. The Vols ended up beating the (other) Bulldogs by six points on the road.

While the media’s practice availability was severely impacted by the harsh snow in Knoxville on Monday, Tennessee still had associate head coach Justin Gainey and forward Josiah-Jordan James speak over a zoom call before practice on campus. Gainey spoke about the ups and downs of the past week while James spoke about the mindset here at the beginning of SEC play.

“I thought our team showed resiliency,” Gainey said on Monday. “I thought they showed fight. Thought they showed toughness. As always on the road in this league, it’s tough. And if you look around the country, it’s really tough to go on the road in conference play and get a win. So we’re just proud of our guys that they showed resilience. They showed toughness and stuck together and nobody ever stopped believing. And so we just kept fighting and we just found a way to get it done.”
