See Betting Odds For Tennessee Basketball’s Matchup Against Alabama

Tennessee basketball is 5.5-point favorite against rival Alabama for Saturday’s showdown in Knoxville, according to DraftKings. The over/under is set at 162. Tennessee is -245 to win outright while Alabama is +198 to win outright and pull the upset.

The matchup between Tennessee and Alabama pits two of the SEC’s best teams against one another. While Alabama isn’t ranked in the AP Poll due to a number of non conference losses, the Crimson Tide are No. 7 in KenPom. Tennessee ranks No. 6 in both the AP Poll and in KenPom ahead of the conference matchup.

The mid-January matchup could end up having big SEC Championship ramifications. Alabama enters the matchup 4-0 in conference play and one of two SEC teams that are undefeated in conference play. Tennessee is 3-1 in conference play and has won two consecutive games after falling against Mississippi State in Starkville.

Saturday’s meeting in Knoxville is the first of two meetings between Tennessee and Alabama this season. The Vols face Alabama in Tuscaloosa in late February. Tennessee knocked off No. 1 Alabama in Knoxville last season which ended a three-game Crimson Tide winning streak in the series.

The rivalry matchup pits two of the SEC’s best players against one another. Tennessee’s Dalton Knecht enters the game on an incredible stretch and is averaging 18.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game this season. Alabama’s Mark Sears is an elite scorer who averages 19.6 points, four rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.

Sears and Knecht split SEC Player of the Week honors after each put up massive numbers in the first full week of SEC play.

Tipoff between Tennessee and Alabama is at 2 p.m. ET at Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center. Karl Ravech and Jimmy Dykes are on the call for ESPN2.
