Tennessee quarterback commit George MacIntyre is wasting no time in generating buzz around the Vols’ football program.

Josh Heupel’s staff made a splash on Monday morning when the five-star in-state quarterback announced his commitment to Tennessee, giving the Vols their first true landmark piece in the class that can be built around. MacIntyre is ranked as the No. 15 player in the country, the No. 3 quarterback in the class of 2023, and the No. 1 player from the state of Tennessee.

Just about four hours after MacIntyre announced his commitment to become the sixth member of Tennessee’s 2025 class, a four-star offensive tackle from Toms River, New Jersey, gave him a shoutout and asked the Tennessee commit a simple question.

“@GeorgeMacIntyr6 U need linemen?” class of 2025 OT Jaelyne Matthews posed on X, prompting a response of “Come on over” from MacIntyre.

Matthews is ranked as a four-star offensive tackle and the No. 11 offensive tackle in the class according to 247’s composite rankings. Matthews has been trending toward Georgia but does hold an offer from Tennessee.

Vol Report on X posted a graphic featuring David Sanders Jr. and Cameron Sparks with MacIntyre just hours after the quarterback’s commitment. Sanders, from Charlotte, North Carolina, is the No. 2 overall player in the class of 2025 and the No. 1 offensive tackle in the nation. Sparks, on the other hand, is the No. 1 athlete in the country and is from Chattanooga.

Vol QB commit George MacIntyre replied to Vol Report’s post by tagging the two high-level prospects on social media.

Tennessee target Marcus Harris posted a picture of himself in a Volunteers uniform on Sunday, one day before MacIntyre’s commitment. After the Brentwood quarterback announced his commitment to Tennessee, though, he went back and commented on Harris’ social media post.

“You know I like it,” MacIntyre wrote.

Harris is a four-star wide receiver from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, that has been in good communication with MacIntyre throughout the recruiting process. Harris is listed as the No. 86 player in the class, the No. 10 receiver in the nation, and the No. 9 player from the state of California according to 247 Composite.

And, lastly, a tweet from On3 Sports’ Matt Ray on Monday prompted MacIntyre to publically go after Caleb Cunningham and Jaime Ffrench Jr.

Cunningham is a five-star wide receiver out of Choctaw County High School in Ackerman, Mississippi. 247’s composite rankings have Cunningham as the No. 11 player in the class, the No. 2 receiver in the nation, and the top overall prospect from the state of Mississippi.

Ffrench, meanwhile, is an Alabama decommit after the Nick Saban retirement news earlier in the month. Ffrench is a five-star wide receiver according to 247 Composite rankings as the No. 12 player in the class and the No. 3 receiver in the nation.

As previously mentioned, MacIntyre’s commitment is a game-changing piece of the puzzle for Tennessee. MacIntyre is a quarterback that other prospects in the class have a high level of respect for and want to play with. George MacIntyre said on Monday that his next goal would be to start recruiting for the Vols, which could pay off dividends as the months go on.
