Three former Tennessee baseball players have landed on MLB Pipeline’s 2024 Preseason Top 100 Prospects list.

Chase Dollander came in at No. 52 as the highest VFL, with Drew Gilbert filing in one spot behind him at No. 53. Jordan Beck rounded out Tennessee’s representation on the list, coming in at No. 81.

Dollander was the ninth-overall pick by the Colorado Rockies in the 2023 MLB Draft and did not pitch in 2023 after signing. However, he is the eighth-best right-handed pitcher in the minor leagues heading into his first year of professional baseball according to the list.

Gilbert is gearing up to enter his first full season with the New York Mets organization in 2024 after being traded from the Houston Astros in a huge trade that sent Justin Verlander to the Astros last August. Gilbert was a first-round selection in 2022 and finished the 2023 campaign with Double-A Binghamton, hitting .289 and recording 18 home runs along with 59 RBI.

Gilbert was selected to participate in the 2023 Futures Game as a part of MLB All-Star Week in Seattle and was named a MLB.com Organization All-Star at the end of the season.

Like Gilbert, Beck was a first-round selection in the 2022 draft to the Colorado Rockies. Beck finished the 2023 season with Double-A Hartford after a strong start to the year with High-A Spokane that resulted in him being named the Northwest League’s Most Valuable Player. Beck hit .271 between the two levels with 25 bombs and 91 RBI.

All three former Tennessee standouts are in store for significant 2024 campaigns which could result in a big-league arrival sooner rather than later.

Spring Training is right around the corner as pitchers and catchers begin reporting on Feb. 9 with position players following on Feb. 14.
