Former Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton III is going through Senior Bowl practices this week before the 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl game on Saturday afternoon in Mobile, AL.

Milton is the only former Vol on the Senior Bowl roster as NFL Draft hopeful and former teammate Jaylen Wright could not participate due to ongoing injury rehab.

While there are reasons to be skeptical about Milton’s game on the field and how it will translate to the NFL, no one questions Milton’s raw strength. The former Vol stole headlines before his final season at Tennessee by dazzling folks at the Manning Passing Academy with his throw power.

Rocky Top Now posted a picture of the Senior Bowl Day 1 ball metrics chart with Milton leading three categories.

Milton, sporting a Detroit Lions cap under his helmet for friend and former teammate Hendon Hooker, posted the longest air distance pass at 60 yards, the fastest initial air speed at 76.4 MPH, and the highest initial ball rotation at 735 RPM.

Measurements were also taken during the first day of the Senior Bowl:

Joe Milton: 6-foot-5, 235 pounds, 10 3/8 inch hand size, 33 1/8 arm size, and an 80 5/8 inch wingspan

Milton was the tallest and heaviest quarterback out of the group that included South Alabama QB Carter Bradley, Notre Dame QB Sam Hartman, Oregon QB Bo Nox, Washington QB Michael Penix Jr., Tulane QB Michael Pratt, and South Carolina QB Spencer Rattler.

Milton tied Penix for the largest hand size and was second to Penix in arm size (33 5/8 in.) and wingspan (81 3/8 in.).
