Nick Saban Joining ESPN’s College Gameday

Former Alabama football coach Nick Saban in joining ESPN as a college football analyst next fall, the network announced on Wednesday.

According to the report, Saban will be a permanent analyst on ESPN’s premier Saturday morning show “College Gameday” while also serving as a NFL Draft and SEC Media Days analyst.

“ESPN and College GameDay have played such an important role in the growth of college football, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to join their team,” Saban said in a release. “I’ll do my best to offer additional insights and perspectives to contribute to College GameDay, the ultimate Saturday tradition for college football fans.”

Saban will join a crowded College Gameday set alongside host Rece Davis and analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and Pat McAfee.

“Nick Saban is a singular, iconic presence in college football,” ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro said in a statement. “He is also an extremely gifted communicator, who will immediately add even more credibility, authority and entertainment value to ESPN, including our esteemed College GameDay show.”

Saban begins his media career after retiring as Alabama’s head coach last month. He spent 17-years leading the Crimson Tide and won six National Championships and nine SEC Championships.

Prior to his time at Alabama, Saban was the Miami Dolphins, LSU Tigers and Michigan State Spartans head coach. The West Virginia native won another National Championship and two more SEC Championships in his five years as LSU’s head coach.

College Gameday didn’t go to a Tennessee game last season after going to its game at Georgia and home games against Florida and Alabama during the 2022 season.
