The Southeastern Conference released its football media days schedule on Thursday morning. The four-day SEC Football Media Days goes to the Lone Star State for the first time this July as the conference welcomes Oklahoma and Texas into the league.

Josh Heupel and three Tennessee players will talk in Dallas on Tuesday, July 16— the second day of the event. Heupel is the last head coach talking at the main podium on Tuesday following Georgia’s Kirby Smart, Missouri’s Eliah Drinkwitz and Oklahoma’s Brent Venables.

The first day of the event includes LSU’s Brian Kelly, Ole Miss’ Lane Kiffin, South Carolina’s Shane Beamer and Vanderbilt’s Clark Lea. The third day of the event includes Alabama’s Kalen DeBoer, Florida’s Billy Napier, Mississippi State’s Jeffy Lebby and Texas’ Steve Sarkisian. The final day of 2024 SEC Media Days includes Arkansas’ Sam Pittman, Auburn’s Hugh Freeze, Kentucky’s Mark Stoops and Texas A&M’s Mike Elko.

The 2024 season includes an abundance of excitement and change in college football with both the SEC and Big 10 expanding and the College Football Playoff expanding from four teams to 12 teams.

There’s equal excitement and change for Tennessee as they enter Josh Heupel’s fourth season as head coach. The Vols are coming of a disappointing 9-4 (4-4 SEC) season that ended with a bang as freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava performed at a high-level in Tennessee’s Citrus Bowl win over Iowa.

Iamaleava steps into the Vols’ full-time starting quarterback spot this season as Tennessee looks to take care of a comparatively soft schedule and make the 12-team College Football Playoff.

The Vols open their spring practice in March before returning to Neyland Stadium on April 13 for the 2024 Orange-and-White game.
