March Madness Preview & More FanDuel Promotions

The tournament hasn’t been favorable to the SEC at all so far. In the first round, five SEC programs were sent packing, and all of them were the favorites in their matchups — Auburn, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Florida, and Kentucky. That puts the spotlight on Alabama in its matchup with the No. 12 seed Grand Canyon. The Crimson Tide have struggled defensively all season long, and that has carried over to the tournament.

They allowed 96 points to the No. 13 seed Charleston in their 109-96 victory in the first round. Grand Canyon is better offensively and defensively than Charleston, and they pose a serious threat to the Tide. Alabama is a 5.5-point favorites. Keep your eye on them for a possible upset today.

Also worth noting for a possible upset is James Madison over Duke. The Blue Devils struggled with the No. 13 seed Vermont Catamounts until late in the second half and only scored 64 points in the game. James Madison is coming off a dominating 72-61 win over the No. 5 Wisconsin Badgers. The James Madison Dukes rebound well and are great at pocket passing on pick and rolls that lead to great looks at the rim.

That aggressiveness could cause problems for the young Blue Devils. Four of their five best scorers are sophomores and freshmen. Rather they can hold up to the relentless attack the Dukes displayed in the first round is yet to be determined. They looked flustered at times during the first round, so keep your eyes out for this one as well.
