Tennessee won the 2024 SEC Baseball Tournament championship on Sunday evening in Hoover, AL, with a 4-3 victory over LSU. The Vols bounced back from an early deficit and survived a late surge from the Tigers to capture their second tournament title in the last three seasons.
Tennessee first baseman Blake Burke was named the MVP of the tournament while Burke and right fielder Kavares Tears earned spots on the SEC All-Tournament team.
The Vols now head into the NCAA postseason with the No. 1 ranking in the country, an SEC regular season co-championship, and an SEC Tournament championship under the belts. The Vols will be hosting the Knoxville Regional next weekend in Lindsey Nelson Stadium against opponents that have not yet been named at the time of this publication.
As usual, social media surged after Tennessee’s championship victory, with fans celebrating the win and outlets reporting on it.
