How They Got Here

Tennessee earned a bye into the double elimination portion of the tournament by earning the one-seed before dropping its SEC Tournament opener against Vanderbilt 13-4. But the Vols made an impressive run out of the loser’s bracket by knocking off Texas A&M 7-4 on Thursday, Mississippi State 6-5 on Friday and Vanderbilt 6-4 on Saturday.

LSU is one of the nation’s hottest teams, making a run to the championship game as the 11-seed in the SEC Tournament. The Tigers knocked off Georgia 9-1 in their tournament opener before run-ruling Kentucky 11-0 and defeating South Carolina 11-10 to advance to the semifinals. LSU saw the Gamecocks again in the semis and survived a wild extra innings game than saw the Tigers win 12-11 on a walk off homer.
