Tennessee basketball is preparing for a massive fall recruiting weekend with a pair of five-star recruits officially visiting around Vol football’s matchup against Kent State.

Five-star center Chris Cenac and five-star shooting guard Darius Adams are all officially visiting Tennessee this weekend, a source told RTI.

Three-star shooting guard Josiah Sanders was also originally officially visiting Tennessee this weekend but the plan is for him to now visit the weekend of the Florida football game.

Cenac is a 6-foot-10 center who ranks as a five-star and the No. 8 player and No. 1 center in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings.

The five-star center is a New Orleans native but plays his prep basketball at Link Academy in Missouri. Link Academy has been good to Tennessee basketball with three players on its current roster— Cam Carr, Cade Phillips and Felix Okpara— playing their prep basketball at Link Academy. Cenac has already taken an official visit to Houston this fall and has future official visits scheduled to Auburn, Kentucky and LSU.

Adams is a 6-foot-5 shooting guard who ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 19 player and No. 3 shooting guard in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings.

The five-star guard is a New Jersey native but plays his prep basketball at La Lumiere School in Indiana. Adams previously visited Tennessee last fall and his official visit to Knoxville this weekend is his second of six fall official visits. He visited NC State last weekend and has trips scheduled to Connecticut, Michigan State, Alabama and Notre Dame later this fall.

The 2025 recruiting class is a critical one for Tennessee basketball. Tennessee definitively has eight scholarships to work with this offseason. Tennessee’s current roster contains only 11 scholarship players meaning the Vols are two under the limit entering the season. Rick Barnes’ 10th team at Tennessee has six seniors on its roster including returners Zakai Zeigler, Jahmai Mashack and Jordan Gainey as well as incoming transfers Igor Milicic Jr (Charlotte), Darlinstone Dubar (Hofstra) and Chaz Lanier (North Florida).

With at least eight scholarships to work with this offseason, Tennessee will sign more high school prospects this cycle than they have in a number of years. The Vols last signed five recruits in the 2022 recruiting cycle and will likely be in that ballpark if not matching it in the 2025 cycle.

Tennessee basketball currently holds one commit in its 2025 recruiting class and it comes from four-star center DeWayne Brown. The Hoover, Alabama native committed to the Vols over Mississippi State back in April. Brown’s commitment is good enough to give Tennessee the No. 23 recruiting class in the 2025 recruiting cycle according to the 247sports team rankings.

The Vols have also been active recruiting a number of blue-chip recruits. Dante Allen and Amari Evans each officially visited Tennessee basketball earlier this fall. Blue-chip recruits Isaiah Dennis and Brayden Burries also have visits planned for later this fall.
