Tennessee Transfer Report: How Former Volunteers Contributed in Week Seven

Each week we’ll take a look at the performances of the players who transferred out of Tennessee following the 2023 season.

Here’s a look at how Tennessee’s outgoing transfers performed in week seven of the 2024 college football season:

DL Tyler Baron – Miami (FL)

Miami had an open date in week seven. They will travel to Louisville in week eight for a noon kickoff on ABC.

CB Warren Burrell – Georgia Tech

Burrell had three solo tackles and a pass breakup in Georgia Tech’s 41-34 win over North Carolina. The pass break-up was on 4th and 6, with Burrell stopping the fourth-down conversion. Burrell remains a rotational player in the Georgia Tech secondary, making plays when given the opportunity. Georgia Tech will host #12 Notre Dame in week eight.

CB Cristian Conyer – Coastal Carolina

Conyer was listed as a participant in Coastal Carolina’s 39-7 loss to James Madison but did not appear in the box score. The Chanticleers will host the University of Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns in week eight.

LB Elijah Herring – Memphis

Herring finished Memphis’ 21-3 win over USF with three tackles. This was the first game for Herring in which he did not have a sack. Memphis will host North Texas in week eight.

S Jack Luttrell – Arizona

Luttrell was listed as a participant in Arizona’s 41-19 loss to BYU but did not record a statistic in the game. Luttrell is yet to contribute on defense for the Wildcats but has been on special teams, as he returned two punts earlier in the season. 

S Tamarion McDonald – Louisville

McDonald listed a season-high in tackles in Louisville’s 24-20 win over Virginia with nine total tackles. The Memphis native has been a key player for the Cardinals after years of experience in the Volunteers secondary. 

OL Addison Nichols – Arkansas

Arkansas had an open date in week seven. The Razorbacks will host LSU in week eight.

CB De’Shawn Rucker – South Florida

Rucker had three tackles and two pass break-ups in South Florida’s 21-3 loss to Memphis. This was a game in which two former volunteers were featured on defense Elijah Herring for Memphis and Rucker for South Florida. The Bulls will host UAB in week eight.

CB Doneiko Slaughter – Arkansas

Arkansas had an open date in week seven. The Razorbacks will host LSU in week eight.

CB Brandon Turnage – Ole Miss

Turnage finished with four tackles in Ole Miss’ 29-26 overtime loss to LSU. Ole Miss was leading 23-16 with three minutes remaining before the Tigers drove the field for a touchdown to force overtime. In overtime, Ole Miss settled for a field goal, and LSU finished overtime with a one-play, 25-yard touchdown drive to beat the Rebels.

S Wesley Walker – Michigan

Michigan had an open date in week seven. They will travel to Illinois in week eight.
