Four-star class of 2026 receiver Tyreek King committed to Tennessee football on Thursday over a list of suitors that included Alabama, Auburn and Michigan.

King is a local product, starring at Knoxville Catholic where he’s caught 39 passes for 873 yards and eight touchdowns on an Irish team that’s largely struggled during the 2024 season.

The 5-foot-10, 165-pound receiver ranks as a four-star receiver and the No. 120 player in the 2026 recruiting cycle according to the 247sports composite rankings. King also ranks as the No. 17 receiver and No. 3 player in the state of Tennessee in the 2026 recruiting cycle.

Josh Heupel and his staff have had early success recruiting the state of Tennessee in the 2026 cycle and have already landed four-star tight end Carson Sneed— the No. 7 player in the state.

King has visited a number of programs including Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Clemson, Alabama, Auburn and and Michigan. His visits to Clemson, Alabama, Auburn and Michigan came this year including a trip to Tuscaloosa for the Crimson Tide’s win over Georgia.

But the blue-chip receiver made the short trip to Tennessee far more than any other school. King has taken nine total unofficial visits to Tennessee over recent years including for the Vols’ matchups against Kent State and Alabama earlier this fall.

King is Tennessee’s fifth commit in the 2026 recruiting cycle and while he is the Vols’ first receiver commit he is their fourth blue-chip commit.

King’s commitment bumps Tennessee from the No. 8 to the No. 7 recruiting class in the 2026 cycle according to the 247sports team rankings. The Vols boast the No. 3 class in the SEC behind Texas A&M and Auburn.
