A number of the nation’s top football prospects have made their way to Hawaii over the last few days for the 2025 Polynesian Bowl.

Included on the 2025 rosters are six Tennessee football signees: David Sanders, Travis Smith, George MacIntyre, Ethan Utley, DaSaahn Brame and Jadon Perlotte.

Tennessee has the second most signees of anyone in the event behind only Oregon’s seven. Right behind Tennessee is USC with five followed by Notre Dame with three and Georgia Tech, UCLA and Texas A&M with two.

There’s a pair of players with connections to Tennessee that are playing in the event— Madden Iamaleava and Douglas Utu. Madden is the brother of Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava and signed with Arkansas last month. Utu is a four-star offensive lineman and former Tennessee commit who eventually flipped to Oregon.

All six Tennessee signees participating in this year’s Polynesian Bowl are blue-chip recruits and, in fact, are six of the 12 highest rated players that the Vols signed according to the 247sports composite rankings.

Sanders is the crown jewel of Tennessee’s recruiting class and ranks as the No. 5 player in the country according to the composite rankings. The five-star offensive tackle will have a chance to start as a true freshman next season.

MacIntyre, Smith and Brame both rank as top 100 recruits nationally while Utley and Perlotte are both top 300 recruits.

All six signees are early enrolling at Tennessee. They will go from Hawaii to Knoxville as Tennessee’s spring semester begins next week and with it the Vols’ winter workouts.

The players in Hawaii will compete in practices all week before the 2025 Polynesian Bowl on Friday night. Kickoff is at 9 p.m. ET and the NFL Network is broadcasting the game.

  1. Its great to see Tennessee football back the way it should be. It took us over a decade to get over, well, not going to say his name, but Ole Miss Coach, I love it when he loses, especially the big games. I have been a UT fan going back to the late 70s with Johnny Majors, and remember watching that UT vs. Miami and routed them when no one gave us a chance. I remember when Peyton finally got the opportunity to be our starting QB and never lose it. I recall how robbed he was of the Hypesman, but he did pretty ok in the pro’s. And now with Coach Heupel, we are finally back. I hope I am wrong about Nico, the last few games he looked lost on a lot of plays. And I hope he gets his swagger back this season.
