Tennessee football added four players to its roster via the transfer portal this winter as they look to retool and make another run to the College Football Playoffs.
All four of Tennessee’s transfer portal additions are on the offensive side of the ball with offensive linemen Wendell Moe Jr and Sam Pendleton, running back Star Thomas and receiver Amari Jefferson.
Arizona transfer Wendell Moe was the first transfer to commit to Tennessee back in December. The right guard started on the Wildcats offensive line for two seasons and was a Second Team All-Pac 12 contender in 2023.
Alabama receiver Amari Jefferson was Tennessee’s second transfer commit. The Chattanooga native nearly committed to the Vols out of high school but ended up at Tennessee a year later and with four years of eligibility.
Duke running back Star Thomas committed to Tennessee after his lone season in Durham where he totaled over 1,000 all purpose yards. Thomas spent his first two seasons at New Mexico State and comes to Tennessee with one-year of eligibility remaining.
Notre Dame offensive guard Sam Pendleton was the Vols’ final commit. The North Carolina started six games for the Fighting Irish as a redshirt freshman and has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
None of the players were super highly touted and with just four players Tennessee has a small transfer class. That combination led to the transfer class not earning a ton of recognition. Here’s where it ranks nationally and in the SEC according to different sites.
