The Kansas City Chiefs selected DT Omarr Norman-Lott out of Tennessee with the 63rd overall pick in the second round of the NFL Draft on Friday night.
Norman-Lott is the Chiefs’ second pick of the draft behind Ohio State offensive tackle Josh Simmons, who was taken with the final pick of the first round. Norman-Lott is also the second Tennessee player off the board in 2025, following EDGE rusher James Pearce Jr., who was taken by the Falcons with the 26th pick.
The 6-foot-3, 315-pounder gives Kansas City a high-motor player who can muck it up in the trenches. In two seasons at Tennessee, Norman-Lott racked up 9.5 sacks and 44 tackles in the interior.

There’s no doubt that Kansas City picked Norman-Lott because of something they fell in love with in the draft process and believe can translate to the field. Norman-Lott was a second-rounder despite being projected in the third and fourth rounds this week and wasn’t even listed on Daniel Jeremiah’s Big Board of the Top 150 prospects.
Norman-Lott is the 389th draft pick from Tennessee and the 15th of the Josh Heupel era in Knoxville (2022-2025).
The 23-year-old joins a fairly hefty list of former Vols drafted to Kansas City, including:
- WR Anthony Hancock (1981)
- OT Ken Jones (1983)
- DB Dale Carter (1992)
- C Jeff Smith (1996)
- CB Julian Battle (2003)
- P Dustin Colquitt (2005)
- DT Turk McBride (2007)
- S Eric Berry (2010)
- G Zach Fulton (2014)
- DT Kahlil McKenzie (2018)
- G Trey Smith (2021)
- DB Kamal Hadden (2024)
Omarr Norman-Lott spent his first three years at Arizona State before transferring to Tennessee prior to the 2023 season. The California native spent two seasons with the Vols and went 19-7 on Rocky Top.
Stay tuned to Rocky Top Insider throughout the weekend for more Tennessee football news, notes, and coverage. Tennessee running back Dylan Sampson is expected to be the next Vol taken off the board.
