Former Tennessee wide receiver Jimmy Holiday appears to be signing with the Kansas City Chiefs after going through rookie minicamp with the organization over the last few days.
Holiday, a 6-foot-1 receiver from Flora, Mississippi, spent his first three collegiate seasons at Tennessee from 2020 to 2022. Holiday played in eight games as a freshman during the COVID-shortened 2020 season. In 2021 and 2022, he recorded seven catches for 111 yards and one touchdown. Those numbers mainly come from his third season, where he tallied six for 106 and a score.
He was also a special teams contributor with 19 returns for 407 yards in 2021 and 2022.

Holiday transferred to Western Kentucky for the 2023 season and caught 20 passes for 326 yards and two touchdowns. After showcasing his talents with the Hilltoppers, Holiday transferred to Louisiana Tech for his final collegiate season in 2024 and put up career-highs in receptions (39) and receiving yards (478), with two touchdowns added in. He also became a ground threat with 48 carries for 182 yards and four touchdowns for the Bulldogs.
Holiday will reunite with safety Will Brooks during training camp, who also signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft. Though on different sides of the ball, Brooks and Holiday were both in the Tennessee program together in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
He’ll also see right guard Trey Smith in the building. Holiday and Smith crossed paths for one season in Knoxville in 2020 before Smith went to the NFL Draft. The Chiefs put a franchise tag on Smith this offseason, ensuring that the two-time Super Bowl champion is in Kansas City for at least one more season.
The Chiefs picked up a former Tennessee lineman in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft with defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott. Kansas City drafted Tennessee DB Kamal Hadden (another former teammate of Holiday at UT in 2021 and 2022) in the sixth round of the draft last year, but released him in August. Hadden is now the lone Vol representative with the Green Bay Packers.
