Tennessee Baseball Midweek Matchup Against Belmont in Weather Delay

Tennessee baseball’s midweek matchup against Belmont is in a weather delay at Lindsey Nelson Stadium due to lightning in the area. The game went into a delay at 5:48 p.m. ET in the bottom of the second inning.

**THE GAME WILL RESUME AT 6:45 P.M. ET**

There’s was no rain at the stadium at the time of the delay but rain showers are projected on-and-off for the next few hours.

*Rain hit the stadium at 6:02 p.m. ET.

Tennessee leads 5-0 in the bottom of the second inning thanks to home runs from Andrew Fischer and Hunter Ensley in the bottom of the second inning. On the mound, left hander Michael Sharman has tossed two scoreless inning allowing just two baserunners.

Fischer and Ensley went deep back-to-back immediately before lightning delayed the game. Belmont was set to make a pitching change before the delay.

Tennessee is in a bad run of weather luck. The Vols have dealt with multiple delays and postponements the last two weekends against Auburn and Vanderbilt. The series against the Tigers had delays and postponements two days of the series. Against Vanderbilt, there was a two-hour delay in game three of the weekend series.

The Vols’ Friday night opener at LSU delayed for over three hours before Tennessee lost in extra innings against the Tigers.
