With the regular season over, the SEC released its All-SEC teams on Monday afternoon. Four Vols earned SEC honors with three landing on the first team and another landing on the second team and All-Defensive team.
Left-handed pitcher Liam Doyle led the way for Tennessee. The Vols’ ace earned SEC Pitcher of the Year honors and is a First Team All-SEC selection. Over the course of the entire season, Doyle posted a 9-3 record, 2.72 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and struck out 137 batters in 79.1 innings pitched.
A bad start to end the regular season against Arkansas hurt Doyle’s SEC numbers but he still finished the conference slate with a 3.51 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 90 strikeouts in 59 innings pitched.
Doyle was one of two transfers Tennessee added from Ole Miss last offseason while first baseman Andrew Fischer also joined Doyle on the first team.
Fischer led the SEC in home runs and was a candidate to earn SEC Player of the Year honors with a .337/.502/.779 slash line, 22 home runs, 14 doubles and 55 RBIs. The left-handed slugger remained a force in SEC play with a .340/.478/.736 with 11 home runs, nine doubles and 23 RBIs.

The junior slugger was undoubtedly Tennessee’s best hitter this season and made major steps forward, walking 56 times while striking out just 36 times over the course of the season.
Infielder Gavin Kilen joined Doyle and Fischer as the first team second baseman. Kilen has played both middle infield spots this season and enters the postseason with a .355 batting average, 14 home runs and 37 RBIs.
Injuries plagued Kilen a bit in SEC play with him starting just 21 games. Kilen’s numbers also dipped in SEC play where he hit .269 with three home runs and just seven RBIs.
Ensley landed on the second team, picking up right where he left off following his spectacular finish to the 2024 season. The super senior enters the postseason hitting .350 with 10 home runs, 16 doubles and a team-best 60 RBIs. He was also a force in SEC play, hitting .323 with six home runs and 34 RBIs. No other Tennessee player totaled even 25 RBIs during conference play.
LSU (six) and Arkansas (five) are the only two schools that landed more players on the First and Second All-SEC teams. Like Tennessee, Georgia had four players on the two teams.
Ensley was also the only Tennessee player to land on the All-Defensive Team. A rock in centerfield for Tennessee, Ensley made spectacular plays and made difficult plays look routine.
