After falling to rival Vanderbilt in the SEC Tournament Semifinals Saturday, Tennessee baseball is now in waiting mode for its NCAA Tournament draw.

The Vols figure out whether they will host a regional on Sunday night at 8:30 p.m. ET before figuring out their full NCAA Tournament draw on Monday at noon ET.

Tennessee entered the week firmly on the bubble as a regional host team. So where do they stand in NCAA Tournament projections following a 2-1 week in Hoover?

D1Baseball has Tennessee hosting a regional in its Sunday morning projections, tabbing the Vols as the No. 14 overall seed. In its projection, D1Baseball has the Vols hosting two-seed West Virginia, three-seed Western Kentucky and four-seed Miami (Ohio).

As the 14 overall seed, Tennessee is potentially matched up with No. 3 overall seed Arkansas for a super regional matchup in Fayetteville.

Baseball America has Tennessee one-spot higher, pegging the Vols as the No. 13 overall seed. The projection has Tennessee hosting two-seed Kansas, three-seed ETSU and four-seed Binghampton in the Knoxville Regional. If Tennessee made it past the first weekend of the tournament then they’d theoretically travel to Chapel Hill to face No. 4 overall seed North Carolina in a super regional.

Tennessee enters the NCAA Tournament with a 43-16 (16-14 SEC) record. The Vols were short on momentum entering last week’s SEC Tournament, dropping their last five series ahead of the start of the postseason.

Tony Vitello’s eighth Tennessee squad had a strong week in Hoover, going 2-1 with a win over Alabama and regular-season conference champion Texas in 12 innings. After winning consecutive SEC games, Tennessee’s run at the SEC Tournament ended in sour fashion with a run-rule loss against rival Vanderbilt.

But Tennessee’s strong work in Hoover seems to have been enough to return postseason baseball to Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The Vols have thrice hosted regionals in Knoxville during Vitello’s tenure, going a perfect 9-0 to advance to super regionals each time.
