
The kickoff time and broadcast details were announced Thursday for Tennessee football’s early season matchups against ETSU and Georgia at Neyland Stadium.
Kickoff for Tennessee’s matchup against ETSU on Sept. 6 is at 3:30 p.m. ET. No one is broadcasting the game on cable television though both the SEC Network+ and ESPN+ are streaming the game.
Kickoff for the Vols’ week three matchup against Georgia on Sept. 13 is at 3:30 p.m. ET. ABC is broadcasting the game. Tennessee’s matchup against Georgia is also its Checker Neyland matchup for the 2025 season.
The Vols 4-4 all-time in Checker Neyland games but has won three of the four games during Josh Heupel’s tenure as head coach including its win over Florida last season. The Vols defeated Texas A&M in a Checker Neyland game in 2023, defeated Florida in 2022 and lost to Ole Miss in 2021.

Tennessee’s rivalry matchup against Georgia is slated for the second best SEC slot of the day in the afternoon slot. Florida’s trip to face rival LSU in Death Valley is the ABC night game on Sept. 13.
The Vols are looking to end an eight-game losing streak against rival Georgia. Tennessee has not defeated Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs since his first year as head coach when the Vols knocked off Georgia on a Hail Mary on the final play of the game.
With the kickoff times now official for the ETSU and Georgia games, Tennessee knows the start times and broadcast details for its first three games of the 2025 season. The Vols’ season-opener against Syracuse kicks off at noon ET on Aug. 30 with ABC broadcasting the game.
Tennessee football is looking to get back to the College Football Playoffs for the second straight season after posting a 10-3 (6-2 SEC) mark a season ago. If the Vols are going to return to the playoffs then they need to definitively beat Syracuse and ETSU. A win over Georgia would also go a long way.
