EA College Football 26 is just over a month away from releasing to the public in the second version of the college football video game after its decade hiatus.

The new game will reportedly have a number of new features that EA College Football 25 didn’t have. Amongst those features is real coaches. EA College Football 25 did not have real coaches, using auto generated names instead.

With EA releasing more details about the new game, speculation has begun about which college coaches will and won’t be in the game. The good news for Vol fans? Tennessee confirmed Friday morning that not only Josh Heupel but also offensive coordinator Joey Halzle and defensive coordinator Tim Banks will be apart of the game.

Heupel is entering his fifth season as Tennessee’s head coach and has restored the Volunteer program to national prominence after spending nearly a decade and a half in irrelevance. The Vols are 37-15 in Heupel’s four seasons including two 10-win seasons and a trip to the 12-team College Football Playoff in 2024.

Tennessee has two wins each over rivals Alabama and Florida in Heupel’s four seasons as head coach. The Vols had one win over Florida in the previous 16 years and zero wins over Alabama in the previous 14 years before Heupel took over.

Banks has been Heupel’s defensive coordinator in all four seasons. The Vols’ defense struggled the first two years under Banks’ guidance but as they’ve added talent through recruiting, the unit has become one of the nation’s best. Last season, Tennessee made the College Football Playoff largely on the backs of its defense.

Halzle has been on Heupel’s staff all four years at Tennessee, spending the first two as quarterback’s coach and the last two as offensive coordinator and quarterback’s coach. The Vols’ offense has struggled to recreate their high scoring success of 2021 and 2022 over the last two seasons.

EA College Football 26 releases to the public on July 10.
