Tennessee baseball dropped game one of the Fayetteville Super Regional to Arkansas 4-3 Saturday in Baum-Walker Stadium.
Arkansas starting pitcher Zach Root shoved in a 7.0-inning start, allowing just one hit while Tennessee mustered only two for the total game.
Marcus Phillips turned in a quality start and Brandon Arvidson and Tanner Franklin provided a pair of 1-2-3 innings out of the bullpen, but Tennessee’s lack of presence offensively led to the narrow loss.
