Four-star offensive lineman Li’Marcus Jones de-committed from Ole Miss football Monday morning after visiting Tennessee last weekend.
A rising junior in the 2027 recruiting cycle, Jones camped at Tennessee late last week earning an offer from Josh Heupel and his staff before eventually de-committing from Lane Kiffin and the Rebels.
Jones originally committed to Ole Miss back in March but has seen his recruitment continue to blow up since. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive tackle earned an offer from Florida State after camping with the Seminoles and also added offers from Mississippi State and Georgia before de-committing from Ole Miss.

Jones ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 279 player in the 2027 recruiting cycle according to the 247sports composite rankings. A Jackson native, Jones ranks as the No. 9 player in the state of Mississippi and the No. 27 offensive tackle in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
The blue-chip recruit played his sophomore season at Flowood Hartfield Academy before transferring back to Callaway High School for his junior season. Jones spent his freshman year at Callaway.
Tennessee football has yet to land a commitment in the 2027 recruiting cycle though that is unsurprising given we’re still in the early stages of the 2027 recruiting cycle. The Vols didn’t land their first commit in the 2026 recruiting cycle until August 2024.
After multiple cycle of poor offensive tackle recruiting, Tennessee is on a nice run of recruiting offensive tackles. The Vols landed four-star Bennett Warren in the 2024 recruiting cycle, five-star David Sanders in the 2025 cycle and currently hold a commitment from five-star Gabriel Osenda in the 2026 recruiting cycle.

Why do you report on high school players that are years out from signing ? Are you that desperate for a story ?
