VFL Jordan Beck has been a human highlight reel in left field for the Colorado Rockies this week.

During Monday night’s game against the Washington Nationals, the former Vol recorded a must-see catch in the outfield with his team trailing by one run in the sixth inning.

Washington third baseman Amed Rosario roped a liner to left field, but Beck was there to make the highlight play. The Rockies went on to win Monday’s game by a score of 6-4, picking up just their eighth road win of the season. Former Tennessee pitcher Seth Halvorsen recorded his fourth save for Colorado during the win in one inning pitched.

While Monday’s catch against the Nats showed his ability to cover ground forward, Beck also recently displayed his athleticism going backwards, too.

During the Rockies’ game in Atlanta against the Braves on Friday night, Beck made a massive leaping catch in left field during a tied 4-4 game. The Rockies would eventually let the game get out of control in a 12-4 loss, but Beck’s catch was a huge moment before things spiraled.

Atlanta superstar Ronald Acuna Jr. took a four-seam fastball out towards left field, but Beck was there to make the jumping catch at the warning track to show off his range in the outfield.

On the season as a whole, Beck is hitting .260 with eight home runs and 22 RBIs. The former Vol has appeared in 62 of the Rockies’ 72 games this season with 56 starts in left field. The other six appearances have either come off the bench or in a DH role, but it’s clear that the Rockies are seeing what they have with him after nine straight LF starts leading into Monday’s game (he did have a scheduled off day on Jun. 14 against the Braves).
